  • Season finale of the German Electric Kart Championship in Mülsen
  • Second race weekend of the year at Arena E
  • Quartet fights for championship title

Next weekend (September 10-12), the big season finale of the 2021 season awaits the participants of the German Electric Kart Championship. In Arena E in Mülsen, Saxony, the last championship decisions are made. Four drivers still have a chance of winning the title and the extensive DEKM winner’s package.

For the second time this season, the DEKM travels to Mülsen. Already in July, the innovative racing series was on the 1,315-meter-long track as part of the Rotax MAX Challenge Germany and now returns to Saxony for the finale – this time in the program of the German Kart Championship (DKM).

Fight for the championship title still open

The fight for the championship is eagerly awaited. It is led by Oscar Pellemele (191 points) followed by Aleksi Jalava (157 points) from Finland and the two Dutch drivers Jens van der Heijden (131 points) and Luca Nieuwenhuizen (130 points). Leader Pellemele proved to be the strongest point scorer in the course of the season. In all races he was in the leading field, but the first final victory is still waiting. In the final calculation, the worst three pre-final and final results are deleted at the end, which means that some changes are still possible.

Luca Nieuwenhuizen from the Netherlands showed his preference for the track not far from Zwickau at his first appearance in July. He celebrated his first race victory in the DEKM in Mülsen and thus laid the foundation for the leap into the top field. Now he has the chance to win the championship as the first Dutch driver ever.

DEKM champion can look forward to unique prizes

The new DEKM champion can look forward to several prizes: DEKM partner Porsche Motorsport invites the champion to an exclusive Formula E simulator test as part of a behind-the-scenes day at the Porsche Development Center in Weissach. In addition, the winner will receive an Arai karting helmet voucher from Point Racing. Technology partner BRP-Rotax adds a very special prize: the champion receives one of the highly coveted positions on the grid for the 2021 Rotax MAX Challenge Grand Finals in Bahrain.
